A REVIEW ON STAKEHOLDER PERSPECTIVES TOWARDS VOCATIONAL SCHOOL ALUMNI

MEILIANA DEWI (2023), A REVIEW ON STAKEHOLDER PERSPECTIVES TOWARDS VOCATIONAL SCHOOL ALUMNI . Skripsi, Universitas Samudra.

ABSTRAK

Vocational school alumni with strong English skills have a better chance of progressing in their occupations. Stakeholders must take into account worker trends by conducting a need analysis to investigate how English-based ESP is used in the industrial world. This research aimed to provide an explanation for the English language requirements in the workplace, based on the perspectives of vocational school alumni who work at Schneider Electric Manufacturing Batam. The descriptive qualitative research method was used in this study, with structured interviews and structured questionnaires as the data gathering instruments. Participants include five vocational school alumni from SMK Negeri 2 Langsa who work in the engineering field and a stakeholder from DVC recruitment. The study findings show that alumni of SMK Negeri 2 Langsa who are presently working at Schneider Electric Manufacturing Batam have met the qualification requirements needed at the workplace. It is also well known that graduates of vocational schools will be unable to join the industrial world, let alone compete in the present industrial revolution, if the graduates lack English proficiency.
