ABSTRAK

The research purposes of this study was to describe the teacher strategies in teaching writing descriptive and narrative at the second grade of SMP N 1 Langsain 2018/2019 academic years. The researcher used the descriptive qualitative study. This research described the teaching process of English at SMP N 1 Langsa. The data was taken from interview, observation, and document analysis.The purpose of the study are: 1. to find out the teacher’ strategies used in teaching text writing. 2. to find out the effect of different strategies used in teaching text writing by different teacher. Based on the on the observation, interview and documents the researcher concluded that The method that used by the teacher in teaching writing are: Problem Based Learning, Movie, Task-based instruction, Discovery Learning Model. According to the final data finding, it can be concluded that that effect of using those strategy was significantly improve all students ability in mastering writing descriptive and narrative text. It was proven by the final scored result was improved and reach the target of school that referrer to KKM (KriteriaKetuntasan Minimal)
