IMPROVING STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY ACHIEVEMENT THROUGH ENGLISH HANGMAN GAME AT JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL

ABSTRAK

This research aimed to investigate about vocabulary students. This research used Hangman game for the strategy during the study. This research used quantitative descriptive. This research used pre-experimental research with one group pre-test and post-test. The population of this research was the second class in SMP N 1 Peureulak. This class as object during was study English vocabulary. The sample of this research was class VIII.1consisted of 34 students by using a purposive sampling technique. But, in pre-test and post-test days two students absent sand finally researcher used 32 as subject. The result of this research, showed that the significant difference mean score of pre-test and post-tests. Based on percentage the research describe how the result percentage after treatment and students get improve until 75.40 % after treatment using hangman game strategy. Based on the result of research effect after used applied this strategy make changes significant to be improve learning English especially in the second class (VIII.1) in SMP N 1 Peureulak. The researcher recommended for teacher in school that the used this strategy, because make more clearly understood, during learning students more be fun and the most important is student was changes core more to be excellent.
