ABSTRAK

The collaboration of technology and media can have positive effects on teaching and learning. Today’s era of digital technology has provided teachers and educators with more chances to be innovative with their teaching in the classroom. Vlog is being a popular media in nowdays. Process of creating vlog, is able to make lessons more engaging and interesting, improve students’ speaking skills. This research reviews some past studies done on the using vlog in learning speaking skill and they evidenced that vlog was indeed improve students’. Therefore, this study aims to explore how much vlogging helps in improving sudents’ speaking skill. The sample were eight eleventh grade farmasi students of SMK N 6 Langsa. This qualitative research applied a purposeful sampling technique to get samples. The method of the research concerned to the participants’ vlog and students’ perspective in the use of video blog by interview. The result showed that vlog can impact students’ in learning speaking. They show improvement there are decrease shyness, more confident, new vocabulary, and grammar. And the result of interview showed that the students’ became more interested, being able to learn, and easy to understand. From all of the result, it can be inferred that video blogging impact students’ speaking skill.
