THE STUDENTS’ PERCEPTION ON THE MEDIA USED BY TEACHER IN TEACHING ENGLISH

ABSTRAK

This research aimed to find out media used by the teacher in teaching English and also to know the students’ perception about media used by the teacher in teaching English. The data were conducted on 10th April 2022 until 14th April 2022 in SMPN 1 Langsa at class VIII F and VIII Gfrom 20students of the eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Langsa. This study used a descriptive qualitative research; the instruments were an observation and questionnaires. The findings of this research showed that the kinds of media used by the when teaching English were a whiteboard, English book,Canva, laptop, LCD Projector, and speaker. The result of the students’perception that most of the students gave positive perception toward the media used by English teacher in teaching and learning process. The results that researchers from student’s perception are making to explain material more clearly for the students, getting the students’ new idea in learning English, helping the students’ pronunciation and making the Students more active in learning process. It meant Canva media by used the English teacher gave some positive impact to students during the teaching and learning process takes place.
