ABSTRAK

curriculum at SMP Level in Langsa. The setting of this research was at two SMP Levels in Langsa, especially to English teachers at SMP Negeri 6 Langsa and SMP Negeri 13 Langsa in 2019/2020 academic year. The researcher used descriptive qualitative method, in collecting data used interview, questionnaire and observation. There were two English teachers that observed by the researcher. The result of the study showed that the English Teachers’ Perception towards the 2013 Curriculum is that the document and material book was provided by the government, the syllabus was guidline to design the Lesson Plan in the 2013 Curriculum. The negative effect of the 2013 Curriculum is the textbook material made by government just consists the main material, whereas not all of the teacher has creative and innovative in teaching-learning process. The English teachers had different perspective on the implementation each other. 2013 curriculum has already implemented in the middle of 2013. Many changes were made such as the disbandment of English in elementary school and begun to be taught formally at junior high school. Scientific approach and authentic assessment which are the characteristic of this curriculum are seen as the solution of Indonesian teaching to be more active and effective. So does in English lesson, scientific approach and authentic assessment can be a good way in its teaching because they offer new concept of teaching.
