ABSTRAK

This research aims were determine whether the use of English Subtitle film is effective and to find how the students perception in using English subtitles films in improving students’ vocabulary skills. This research adopted the pre-experimental method. Twenty-nine students participated in this research which was taken purposively. The Subtitle film was the medium used to improving the students vocabulary mastery, and the vocabulary test were the research instrument. The researcher collected the data through interview, observation, and test. Microsoft Excel was used to perform statistical analysis. On the data and describe quantitatively. Investigation revealed that the mean post-test score is higher than the pre-test score (58 < 85). Besides, the value of the t-count is higher than the value of the t-table. The result of the student’s scores on the post-test become more elevated than opposed tests representing the treatment’s effectiveness in helping the learners improves the students vocabulary mastery, especially in nouns, verbs and adjectives. Based on students' perceptions, researchers found that students liked watching while learning activities carried out in the classroom. This research strongly that others examine the use of films for different skills imaginatively.
