ABSTRAK

The purpose of this research were to find out how the students attitudes towards teaching English and how the impact of students attitudes towards English language teaching. The participants of this research are English teacher and 32 students from class VIII at SMPN 4 Langsa. This research used qualitative research. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative. Researchers used observation sheets, questionnaires and interviews to collect the data. The results of this study indicate that students attitudes and impacts in teaching English are negative. The research results show that there are four points resulting from questionnaires, observations and interviews taken from 3 categories of student language learning, namely cognitive principles, affective principles and also linguistic principles. From these three categories the researcher created and obtained 4 points of results obtained when conducting research, namely: Student polite attitudes and behavioral when studying, students discipline attitude, students self confidence and students speak regional language.
