ABSTRAK

This research contains "need analysis and English for specific purposes English material of nursing program" which was carried out at SMKN 6 Langsa, with the sample being class 10 majoring in nursing. This research aims to find out about ESP need analysis in nursing students and to find out how to design ESP material that is suitable for these nursing students. In this research, descriptive qualitat ive methods were used. To find data sources in this research, researchers used observation instruments and questionnaires. The researcher made observations first to see what kind of English material the teacher used for nursing students, after that the researcher used a questionnaire to get need analysis data for ESP in class 10 students majoring in nursing which was later used to create examples of appropriate English learning materials. For nurses. In this case, it was found that at SMKN 6 Langsa in class 10, the nursing department was found to still use English learning materials in general, such as at high school level, there was no ESP material. After obtaining data that is appropriate to the aim of this research? Researchers can find out how to analyze the needs of nursing students, where the need analysis is in the form of the abilities and opinions of 10th grade students majoring in nursing regarding English. Then, after finding this data, the researcher made an example of ESP material design that was suitable for the nursing students. So that later the learning objectives can be more focused on education and English language needs in their future field of work.
