ABSTRAK

This research examines the process of learning English using the Translanguaging Method. This research aims to find out the process of learning English using the Translanguaging Method and wants to know how teachers and students perceive the use of Translanguaging in the learning process.. This study was conducted at SMPN 13 Langsa and took second grade students in class VIII-2. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with purposive sampling to select subjects as data sources. Researchers found that Translanguaging as a teaching method used by teachers has very good benefits for increasing students' understanding of the learning process, especially learning English. This can help students more easily accept and understand the teacher's lesson material and the Translanguaging learning method can build students' motivation and courage with a learning approach that allows students to use all the language resources they have. However, it cannot be denied that excessive use of Translanguaging makes students dependent on the first and second languages and can hinder students' progress in learning a new language (English). Therefore, it is necessary to apply a balanced approach so that the benefits of language translation can be optimized, and it must be adapted to the context and learning objectives.
