AN ANALYSIS OF COMPOUND COMPLEX SENTENCE IN THE STUDENTS’ READING TEXT BOOK

ABSTRAK

The researcher did the research to analyze the compound complex sentences in students’ reading text book. In this research, the researcher did content analysis study to The Book entitled “ Bahasa Inggris Work in Progress” published by The Ministry of Education and Culture in 2017,  that book is written by Utami Widiaty, Zuliati Rohmah and Raden Safrina. Based on the result of data analysis, it can be concluded that from the fifteen chapter of Reading Text Book at the first grade students of SMK students. The Book entitled “ Bahasa Inggris Work in Progress” published by The Ministry of Education and Culture in 2017,  that book is written by Utami Widiaty, Zuliati Rohmah and Raden Safrina, the book included 11 reading text book. The reading text with entitled An email From Hannah consist of 3 compound complex sentences, the reading text of A letter from saidah consist of 2 compound complex sentences, the reading text of Tanjung Putting National Park consist of 8 compound complex sentences, the reading text of Taj Mahal consist of 4 compound complex sentences, the reading text of Visiting Niagara Falls consist of 1 compound complex sentences, the reading text of Meeting My Idol consist of 4 compound complex sentences, the reading text of The Battle of Surabaya consist of 9 compound complex sentences, the reading text of Bj. Habibie consist of 2 compound complex sentences, the reading text of Cut Nyak Dhien consist of 8 compound complex sentences, the reading text of Issumboshi consist of 5 compound complex sentences, the reading text of The Legend of Malin Kundang consist of 10 compound complex sentences. The total of compound complex sentences is 56 which included in 11 reading text books. Based on the result of the research, the researcher also hopes for the teacher to teach the kind of sentences for students. Therefore, they can understand the meaning of reading text easily
