ABSTRAK

 This research is entitled “Promoting Reading Interest Trough Wattpad Students’ Perspectives and Experiences”. The purpose of this study were to analyze students’ perspectives toward Wattpad on promoting reading and What reading components are affected by reading Wattpad. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. This research was conduct at SMA Negeri 1 Langsa The participants in these class are second grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Langsa. The researcher obtained data from questionnaire and an interview. The result of this study showed (1) all of the students felt that Wattpad can promote their reading interest and the students also agree that activity on the platfrom helped the students to learn about literature and increase their reading skill. (2) Vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension are the components of reading that is most affected by reading Wattpad.
