An Analysis of Students Learning Style in Listening Skill

ABSTRAK

This research provides an analysis of students learning style in listening skill. The aimed of this research to find out the students learning styles conducted outside the classroom to improve their listening skill and to know the dominant learning styles. The research was conducted at SMAN 1 Langsa in August-October 2018. The population of this study were students of tenth grade of X IPA, there are 60 students and the sample of this study were 40 students at SMAN 1 Langsa. The research applied descriptive qualitative method. The data were taken by observing, give a listening test and interviewing the students for both two class. The research compared the final score of X IPA 1 and X IPA 6. The results obtained some conclusions as follows: a) learning style Students of X IPA 1 is dominated by Visual learning style as much as 62.50% of the total students in score of listening test ; b) learning style Students X IPA 6 is dominated by Visual learning style as much as 37.50% of the total students in score of listening test ; c) Student learning styles is dominated by Visual learning style as much as 42.86% of the total students. Therefore, it was concluded that learning styles students are dominated by Visual learning style as much as 50.94% of the total students.
