THE EFFECTIVENESS OF BLENDED LEARNING IN ENHANCING STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY

ABSTRAK

The aims of this study were to know the effect and student’s perception on blended learning in enhancing students’ vocabulary. The research conducted at the first grade at SMAN 3 LANGSA. The research was quantitative method by using quasi experimental design approach. The populations of the research were the first grades of SMAN 3 Langsa in the academic year 2021/2022. There were 356 students divided into ten classes. The researcher selected two classes, IPA-4 as an experimental class and IPA-4 as a control class. The Instrument were test and questionnaire. The researcher administered the test in two ways, namely pre-test and posttest. The questionnaire used to collect the data for students’ perception. To analyze those data, the researcher used IBM SPSS Statistics 24 program. The results of this research showed that the used of blended learning in enhancing student’s vocabulary was effective. It proved by the result of hypothesis test. It showed that tcount> ttable, it was 5,555>1.671. The p-value was 0.000, which 2-tailed value was lower than 0.05 (alpha value). It concluded that there was a significant difference in enhancing students’ vocabulary, it meant Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. The student’s perception toward blended students’ vocabulary was positive. It mean 80% of the students were positively respond to the implementation of blended learning by using Zoom platform and face to face which is categorized as the very high level for each item categories
