ABSTRAK

This study examines the types of sentences used in the Storybook eight o'clock Tales
Enid Blyton. The purpose of this study is to explain the frequency of occurrence the
sentence type used in the Story book eight o'clock Tales Enid Blyton. This research
method is descriptive qualitative. The results showed that were four type of
sentences such as simple sentences, compound sentences, complex sentences, and
compound, complex sentences. According to the percentage analysis, it was found
that the most frequent when someone uses in writing were simple sentences 135 that
obtained all types of sentences found in book eight o'clock Enid Blyton writing. The
first frequent was a compound sentence by the number of 59 sentences. The second
compound complex sentence by the number of 20 sentences , last complex sentence
by the number of 17 sentences which is found in the story of the skittle policeman
The researcher conclude that in the story book eight O’clock tales Enid Blyton
combinase all kinds of sentence in his writings. It was quite good because according
to Hague and Oshima writing style can be obtained by mixing the types of sentence.
The researcher hopes that advanced researcher are able to use all the types of
sentence in their writing because they are not basic learners, they must improve and
develop their skills especially in writing when they want to be good writers by
knowing, combining, and mixing all the types of sentence in order to convey the
message that is intended.
