ABSTRAK

This aim of research were to find out categories communication strategies that used by teacher the second grade of MTs Terpadu Langsa. Communication strategies is sending the message across to the listeners. The method of this study used qualitative method with descriptive design. The subject of study was three teacher who teach at the second grade. The data were collected by using observation, and interview. Based on the result of research, the researcher found that categorize communication strategy that used by the teacher were two teachers used achievement communication strategy and one teacher used Functional Reduction strategy. The result of study was Communication strategies very important in the teaching process, especially in teaching English in classroom, whether consciously applied by the teacher or unconsciously this will greatly helped the learning process to be more effective. The quality of teaching and learning English greatly improves and affects the students' ability to understand the learning process and they appear should be very active during the learning process
