ABSTRAK

The aim of this research was: to find out the types and the reason of code mixing in the Deddy Corbuzier’s podcast. This research applied a descriptive qualitative method using content analysis. The analysis procedure is data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. The result shown the types of code mixing and the researcher found the three types of code mixing. There were 227 data of intra-sentential code mixing, 26 data of intra-lexical code mixing, 1 data of involving a change pronunciation. It also found five reason of code mixing from seven reason in the theory. There were 112 data of talking about particular topic, 19 data of being emphatic to something, 5 data of interjection, and 33 data of repetition used for clarification. It concluded that intra-sentential code mixing was the most used type of code mixing because the pattern of sentence in both languages that made the speaker mixed the languages easily. It also concluded that talking about particular topic was the most used reason of code mixing and it happened because the speaker in the videos talked about the same topic.
