ABSTRAK

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, Indonesia was implemented the online learning at all the level of education. This causes an increase or decrease in the student learning outcomes while online learning. This study aimed to investigate how are the students learning outcomes in online English language learning during the pandemic era and what factors do affect the students learning outcomes in online English language learning during the pandemic era. This research was conducted as a descriptive qualitative method. The instruments of this research were documentation and interview consists of 12 items for teacher and 14 items for students. The sampling consists of 15 students in SMAN 1 Seruway and 15 students in SMAN 2 Seruway. The student learning outcomes were collected by using a documentation study, while data on factors affecting learning outcomes were collected using teacher and student interviews in both schools. The results of the study at these two schools showed that there was a decrease in student learning outcomes while online which was seen from the final and daily grades of students when online and after the implementation of face-to-face schools. This was influenced by internal factors which included health, intelligence, attention, motivation, interest, and motives. While the external factors include motivation, school environmental factors, and family environmental factors. This research expected to add information about the implementing online learning
