ABSTRAK

The title purpose of this research was teacher effort in motivating Students’ critical thingking in reading Comprehension. This Study was aimed 1. To find out the efforts to increase the students motivate in reading , 2. To find out how does the students response to English teacher effort to increase the motivation in reading, this research was adopted qualitative method. The subject of the research was eleventh grade student of SMPN 3 Langsa and the sample of this study is the student of the ninth grade students of SMPN 3 Langsa class VIII – 1, if consists of 23 students, 11 Male and 12 Female with Variation Competence. In Collecting the data the research was used the Observation, Interview, questionnaire and Documentation. Based from final data Analysis the researcher found that the English teacher’s effort to increase the students Motivation are Giving praise, Giving Suggestoin Playing Motivation by Using Movie and also a story and many the ninth grade students of SMPN 3 Langsa have good response to the English teacher’s Motivation
