ABSTRAK

This research focus to find out the applications used by mobile phone to support student’s learning activities at English course and to know the student’s perceptions about the use of mobile phone to support their learning activities at English course. This research was descriptive qualitative research. The data collected by doing classroom observation, interviewing and questionnaire as well. The participants were the Basic class of International Business Media (IBM) English course at Pangkalan Brandan. It was concluded that students were engaged with their phone by using several applications such as online dictionary, YouTube and WhatsApp. The students had positive perceptions on the use of mobile technology. They perceived that; mobile phone is very useful to support learning activities, and mobile phone makes teaching and learning process to be more interesting and easier.
