ABSTRAK

The aim of this research was: to find out the types and factors of code switching and code mixing in (HIMSSAKA) Langsa city. This research applied a descriptive qualitative method using content analysis. The analysis procedure is data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. In data analysis, researchers used instruments such as recording, interviews and documentation. The researcher found that the data obtained from each type of code switching namely tag-switching 10 data, intra-sentential 16 data and inter-sentential 15 data. Meanwhile, there were three types of code mixing found namely insertion 15 data, alternation 7 data and congruent lexicalization 12 data. For the factors that influencing factors code switching and code mixing were speaker, interlocutor, habit, environment and changes in the topic of conversation.
