ABSTRAK

Semantics is a branch of linguistics. This branch is important, and there are lexical and contextual meanings. By listening to the song, we can get knowledge about literature appreciation and song background.Therefore, the researcher is interested in analyzing the lexical semantic in Aceh TraditionalSong (Bungong Jeumpa). The problem in this research is "what is the meaning found in the lyrics of bungong jeumpa?" And "what is the message found in the Bungong jeumpa song?" The researcher limits his thesis discussion based on the meaning and messages, this research used descriptive qualitative method, the researcher wants to analyze and interpret the research object song of Bungong jeumpa. Now the researcher steps to get all the data to be observed by collecting data sources from internet and books, after that he chooses songs that contain semantics, reads and listens to lyrics to understand the contents of the song performs and analyzes data collected and makes conclusions. The results of this study are as follows: (1) related to lexical meaning, while (2) related to contextual meaning. The researcher hopes this research will be useful for other researchers who want to know more about semantics. In addition, semantics are an important branch of linguistics that is interesting to study, especially when applied to literary works, such as songs or poetry, etcetera.
